Why EMSPowered Performance Filters?
At EMSPowered if something is not up to our standards we go back to the drawing boards and design our own. This time it was filters. We used filters from many different manufacturers in the past for our intakes, but around the middle of 2008 when we started testing various setups with performance velocity stacks we realized that there was room for improvement on the filters. So what did we do? We had our own designed, we borrowed some well designed features we liked from other top performing filters and we added the EMSPowered touch with added performance features to allow the filter to flow better and increases intake air velocity.
1- Generally dual cone filters are a double edged sword, you get increased flow, but decreased velocity due to turbulence. The new EMSPowered filters have solved this by adding an inverted velocity stack to the bottom of the interior cone. This allows the benefits of a dual cone design, while allowing maximum intake air velocity. 2 - Most filters have a abrupt 90 degree lip at the base of the filter before the flange. This kills flow and causes unnecessary turbulence. The EMSPowered filter features a built in velocity stack at the filter's base which maximizes intake air velocity. 3 - Filter elements come in all varieties, paper elements, foam elements, cotton gauze elements, dry fabric elements, and many others. Some offer better filtration. Some offer better flow. Some offer longer service life. At EMSPowered our filters are built using an 8-layer cotton gauze filter element with a fine wire mesh housing it on both sides. This allows for maximum flow and maximum filtration. 4 - EMSPowered filters are lifetime filters. They can be cleaned and reused for the life of your vehicle. |
